KIMONO COLLECTION
ACCESS CULTURE is proud to have the care of the Collection Okubo, a particularly extravagant collection of Japanese Kimonos dating from the first half of the 20th century. All items in the collection are hand-wrought and were part of the wardrobe of a single owner, Sanae Okubo, a noblewoman and descendant of an ancient Samurai-dynasty.
Their first rate craftsmanship, refined elegance and beautiful colouring make these Kimonos a unique and fascinating experience..
The collection has been shown in the textile museums of Krefeld/Germany and Tilburg/Netherlands and is available for further exhibitions. Single Kimonos from the collection may also be hired as decorative items for events.
The exhibition catalogue is available from ACCESS CULTURE against a payment of Euro 15, 00 plus postage and packing.
